God and the workplace

How do we live out a Christian life in the workplace!

Try to discourage the culture of long hours and should not be part of the norm.

Success came from recognising weaknesses. Try to not to create clones of the management.

Suggesting that if people had good ideas they should follow it through. Respecting people from the moment they came through the door.

To enjoy work you should ...

Be fit for it,
Not do too much,
Sense of success in it.

The Bible says if we are honest in little things we become honest in the big things. In the workplace we should not lie and not expect others to lie on our behalf.

A timely rebuke is a kindness. We should not be afraid to do this with people and our families.

Proverbs 15:31-32 (NIV)
He who listens to a life-giving rebuke will be at home among the wise. [32] He who ignores discipline despises himself, but whoever heeds correction gains understanding.

What happens when the energy is spent and we need to rely totally on God? God's hand is on the rudder and we can trust Him in the journey we go down.

Spiritual leadership begins at home.

Who take the responsibility for guidance and leadership of the children? If all the energy is spent at work and you get home all spent out what can you give the family.

How do you balance it?

We should examine our role of responsibility.

Are we consistent with what we say and do?
How do we spend our time?
Are we failing our wives and children?
Are we consumed with material lives?
